building DMI pool data freeze

i am getting stuck at the building DMI pool data screen...
specs
mb: sy-6vba133
cpu: cele 500 with ms-6905 slocket
ati rage IIC
floppy
these are all the things i am using to boot up with a boot disk of course

ive removed all other hardware...still it is getting stuck at this screen...what can i do?

Have you tried clearing the CMOS?

yes many many times...hehe...took out battery too...

i have had this problem as well on new HDD's and a fdisk /mbr always cleared it up.

when I had this last,it was in my case a faulty CPU.

I got this with my Soyo 6BA+IV after flashing with a crappy 3rd party bios posted on Soyo's site (and subsequently removed). Maybe flash with a different version (earlier?) of the bios.

wish i could flash...will not boot with floppy...
i have tried 3 different cpus...still same prob...
