Building Computer, Need Advice On Mboard/Comments on the Rest

I'm building a computer in the near (next 1-3 months) future. I want it to be good, but not bleeding edge (I have a flexible budget, but I don't like to overspend on anything)
This computer will be used for audio creation/recording (Softsynths and the like) as its' primary function, as well as for playing movies(outputted to widescreen HD tv) and maybe occasional gaming.
I would probably be better off with an Intel setup as far as encoding speed is concerned, but I want to keep the box cool and relatively quiet (and less expensive) hence the choice of AMD.

Case:
JustPC JPC899OR Orange Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811200024

(I love the way it looks, the all plastic shell will dampen the sound some, and other than that I want an orange case ;)
I did some research into the supplied power supply, looked at the company that
actually manufactures it and have found it's a decent, not terrible power supply. I'm leaning towards using it, but if not could use reccomendations on a decent replacement (Quiet is better in this case)

Motherboard:
Here's where I need help. I don't like any of the motherboards, they all seem to
have flaws, or layout problems, or something wrong with them. I want an nforce4 ultra board, I really don't want to pay extra for SLI (i'll never need it) but I want to be in pci express for upgradability.
i'm leaning towards the Chaintech VN4/VE especially because it has passive cooling on the chipset (less noise).
The thing I most want is rock-solid stability. My current computer is running an old Tyan Trinity type board that is an absolute horse, so I'm spoiled.
(note: As i was writing this I went to Tyan's website, and lo-and-behold they just came out with an Nforce4 ultra board, which looks like it might be perfect for what I want, does anyone know ANYTHING about this?)

Processor:

Best value, unless I want to go to the 3200+
AMd Athlon 64 3000+ Retail

memory -
Geil Value 2gb (2x1gb) DDR400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144322

I need at least 2gb of memory, I MAY go up to 4gb of memory. Softsynths are very memory intensive

Hard Disk:
Samsung Spinpoint Serial ATAII 160 GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822152020

I may want a 2nd smaller capacity of these for my non-audio software, I'm not familiar enough with RAID to set it up myself, so that's pretty much out of the question (Unless someone knows a good guide to setting up RAID)
the Samsungs are supposed to be extremely quiet, and I have a ton of brand loyalty to samsung for whatever reason.
Samsung Spinpoint 7200 rpm HD SATA 160 GB OEM

Video Card (HD/s-video/ out)DVI out
PowerColor 256 mb RX700

I can't really find a better video card value for what I want for it, unless I want to go down to 128 mb (Not sure if that's worth it)

It's a pretty good board, but I would probably stick with a simple consumer board versus a workstation class board, costwise. Maybe an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum? :)

~By the way, nice case choice. :p

Thanks on the case, I'm very much looking forward to staring at it every day.

My main question would be, I suppose, is the Tyan board significantly more stable than a consumer board (Like the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum) Especially considering I'll never be overclocking. I want stability and long-life, with solid base performance.
I know the Tyan board comes with an integrated video chip, but it also has a PCI-E slot, so that's where most of the extra cost froms, that and the name/quality I hope.

Very torn on this decision.

Not entirely since the chipset is the same. All the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinums that I've used have been rock stable, nothing wrong with them.
DFI has the best stock performance out of the boards that I've played with, but they're more for overclockers.

Of course, there are always AMD Opterons and Tyan or Supermicro boards... :)

The K8N Neo4 was the first mboard i had decided on, but i was worried about the noise of the mboard fan (I really need this to be a fairly quiet computer for the audio recording reasons, and anywhere I can reduce noise is good)
If there are no real negatives to getting a workstation board like the Tyan, i would probably shell out the extra money for that (Fiance' is a sucker for computer parts, all is good ;))
