System for General Use including gaming. Design w/ future in mind
I prefer ordering from newegg but if there is a pricedifference of more than 20 dollars tell me the other place.
Already have an OS, hardware only please.

Oh, and I want to go w/ Antec Sonata, but will included 380w PS be suitable?

This is a COMPLETE SYSTEM.

Include: FLAT SCREEN monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers (decent 2.1's).

This is for my uncle that needs a nice introduction to computers, will play some games (madden etc) May even video edit.

Thanks a ton. I may do a slight overclock for him, so maybe an aftermarket Heatsink (as long as it isn't loud!!!)

instead of building a lousy rig from scratch, why not opt for a pre-built barebone?

Shuttles and Soltek make really nice ones and I am debating myself between getting one of those or building a full tower.

And from your sig.. how the hell do you overclock a 36.7GB to 42.5GB?

So you've got plenty of room for upgrades. The Sonata's PSU is very good and will give you plenty of power. Also, the A64 rund fairly cool and OC's nicely on stock cooling. No real need to get aftermarket cooling unless you just want it quieter, or are looking to get the maxium OC.

keyboard and mouse is pretty subjective but you can get a basic logitech for $31

for the lcd i'd recommend gettin in on one of the dell deals for their 2005fpw or 2001fps since they are good monitors that can be easily had for under $500 or the 1905fp. both can be gotten for quite cheap if you wait for a good deal

I agree with this suggestion, but I wouldn't overclock someone elses rig. Just buy the retail package of the CPU and r7un it at stock.

Is there any reason you suggested getting a seperate DVD-ROM?
