I'm building a computer over the next few weeks, am on a budget, and have never built one before. So far I've already bought a cpu (sempron 2600+), heat sink fan (Cooler Master VortexDream), and a power supply (300W Fortron) for a total of $95 including shipping. I have $360 more maximum to spend for the rest of the parts, and would like to get the best "bang for the buck" as possible. I'm going to use this system for a lot of things: encoding, gaming (running Halo and HL2 at medium settings would be fine), music, watching movies/tv, photo editing, dvd/cd burning, 3d rendering, and multitasking frequently. I download massive amounts of stuff, but I can live with a 80gb hd if need be. I plan on overclocking as well. Here's the parts I'm thinking of getting; it would help me out greatly if you can make recommendations (upgradability is not a huge issue as I plan on getting another comp in a year):
