I'm putting a system together for a family member. Here is the case that I bought (MGE CA-S1-S). It comes with a 400w psu of which I have no idea about the quality. Do you guys think it will be sufficient enough to power the following system?

Here are the system specs:

AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ (socket AM2)
ASUS M2NPV-VM Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
NEC 3550A DVD Burner
Hitachi 160gb SATA HDD

+ standard mouse, keyboard, usb wifi network adapter

Pretty basic setup. I will be using the onboard graphics, so no dedicated vid card.
I will also NOT be overclocking. Everything will be running stock.

probably ok enough for that build no overclock

but for a good rig, i'd get something better.

It's your PSU, i'd shell out an extra 50 and at least go with a fortron. If you plan to overclock, try picking up a used Antec or something, the 520w usually go for $70-80

18amps on a single 12V rail is a little low - as you're using onboard graphics, it's probably just about enough, but I:
A) Never trust generic brand PSU's as they tend to fail alot more.
B) Would go for something that could handle an upgrade to a discrete graphics in the future.

OK, he definetly doesn't need anything close to 520w. A 380w seasonic s12 would do him a lot of good.

Actually, a Seasonic S12-330 is more than needed and about $63. Max power ever consumed will be <200W

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I think I'll be on the safe side and get this psu:
Thermaltake Pure Power 500w

It's on sale at my local Fry's for $59.99 - $30 rebate, so about $35 after tax.

This computer will be for my aunt. It's already overkill for her needs. :)
