I'm about to build an acrylic plastic case for my server and workstation computers. I've read around the net that static is a problem with acrylic. I realize that it does hold a static charge, but to what extent, I'm not certain. I'm just looking for people with experience with building acrylic cases from scratch and the measure and precautions they took to building a successful acrylic case. Thanks!

It probably wouldn't be too big of a deal if you placed a tight grid-like metal mesh against the acrylic on the insides, and grounded the mesh to your power supply.

Or, if you can find some, grab a wide, wide roll of transparent, conductive tape and just tape all of the insides. Again, tape a grounding wire to it.

Thanks for the helpful replies, guys! You guys never cease to amaze me with your knowledge. Anyways, I realize that they are for sale, but I designed a unique cube-style case. Guess I learned something from first year Computer Engineering. Similar to the RenderCube seen on some sites, it will hold both my workstation and server simultaneously. Pretty neat concept. I will have excellent cooling, around 12 fans. Gonna integrate a 100mb hub into the cube. Here's what's gonna go into it:

Workstation:
Duron 1000MHz + FOP32-1
512Meg PC133 @ 140MHz 333
MSI K7T Pro2A
2 x 4.55GB Fujitsu 10,000RPM UW SCSI
TekRam DC-390F UW Controller
Radeon LE 32DDR @ 200/200
SB Live Value
Panasonic 6X DVD
Acer 4x4x32 CDRW
ATI TV Wonder PCI
100Mb NIC

Server:
Celeron II 952MHz + Golden Orb
128Meg PC133 @ 149MHz 333
Asus CUV4X
13GB WD 7200RPM
Voodoo3 3000 AGP TV Out
100Mb NIC

So basically, I'll have a cube with cumulatively 1.95GHz CPU power, 640Meg RAM, and 10K SCSI drives. I want to integrate it cause I'm hosting a lot of LAN parties this summer. I'll definitely have pictures and statistics when I'm complete.
