I am currently on Neweg.com looking at buying my hardware to start building my first pc. After going over so many items I have come down to these so far. I would like for anyone that has any suggestions to please respond away. I will be using this machine for basic exploring, gaming (not a real hardcore gamer but like to game). I have picked out few items but having a hard time on the Memory,Video Card and Hard Drive. What I mean by that is I cant decide on what brand. PLEASE HELP! Heres what I have so far. I already ave keyboard, mouse.

Case: Aspire Model: ATXA1AW-SV/ 420
server case w/ 420 power supply

Mobo: Asus P4P800
ddr400 333

Processor: P4 2.8 800fsb W/Hyperthreading Tech

Hard Drive: Western Digital 120gb
7200rpm SATA Drive

I don't like that case. It doesn't seem to have much cooling. It only has two 80mm fans, has a side mounted HD cage, and a generic power supply.

this case is almost half the cost, and much better.

this case is more expensive, because it doesn't come with a power supply. Add a Fortron 350W power supply and it cost $123 vs $100 for the aspire.

This case is the best bang for the buck if you don't need/want a window.

this is the case to get if you want a silent PC.

Yup, the last link is prolly what you want. Whisper quiet.

Might want to get Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA hard drive its supposed to be very quiet, reliable and fast.

2.8 drops in price to 178US on February 2nd, thats like 3 days from now so wait until it drops in price and also see if Prescott doesnt perform as fast as Northwood before you make the final decision.

Might want to consider Abit IS7 rev. 1.2 if its cheaper than the p4p800 (esp. if it's deluxe) I dont know if you'd want all the features the ASUS has.

First, ask yourself what applications do you use the most? If it's gaming, you might want to consider Athlon 64 3000+ , for everything else 2.8 should be fine. Also if you want to overclock it to 3.5ghz that means you might use 5:4 ratios, so either get yourself PC4000 for some 1:1 or at least 3200/3500 for 5:4 ratio operation at tigter timings. Also you could consider a better cooler like Zalman CNPS7000A-ALCU or stock cooling should be sufficient if you don't want to spend too much extra $$$.
