I'm about to build a SLI rig and I've been thinking about which cases to use. I'm definately going with an all aluminum case. Probably one from Lian Li or Cooler Master. Right now I'm thinking about using a Lian Li PC-V1000B Plus or a PC-65B Plus. And I'm thinking about using a Cooler Master Praetorian 730.

I'm leaning towards the V1000 Plus as of right now since it's got the two 120mm fans. But I also like the PC-60 and Praetorian 730 since have slide out mobo trays.

However, I've read that the V1000 has cooling problems with a SLI configuration and the inverted ATX design limits me from using mobos with heatpipes like the Asus A8N32. The PC-60 and Praetorian 730 has 80mm fans which I don't really like.

Which case do you guys think I should use? If you guys have other suggestions feel free to tell me.

Excellent case. The SPCR version in black looks even better (aesthetically of course)

Thermaltake Armor because it's big, light, and very efficient and has that nice window . . . :p

But P180 is nice because its quiet, looks nice and cools very efficiently.

Blah, the P180 is boring looking. That and the excessive use of plastic turn me off completely.

I would go with the Lian Li V1100, Antec P150, or the Praetorian 730.

lol..Some people are not concerned about their pc case looking "exciting" or "fun," but we all have our own likes/dislikes. I look for function over form always, though form does play a role (ie. women). I really like the reviews/looks of the P150 so I'll concur with you there. I have never worked in/on a LianLi, but as somewhat a computer case "laymen," from what I read and hear, I think Lian makes quality stuff. I do like the CM cases build quality, but their looks, imo, need work. Yes, I am P180 biased, obviously, but the use of plastic is "necessitative," rather than "excessive." There is reason to it. Each to their own ;)

My point of view...
I struggled last fall on deciding what case to get...was down to a p160 and the stacker. I chose the stacker and I am glad I did. It was my first build and I appreciated the room it has to offer. Organized well. My 3500 winnie (stock) runs 32 idle 45 load. Case temp is always under 5 usally 3 (MBM5). Have room for 3 more fans, don't need them. Tough and it is heavy, black and silver looks good.

Now I am making another system and dam......... its between the stacker and the p180....

I looked they figures up for my own comparisons, thought I would share.....
p180 stacker

height 21.3 21.2
width 8.1 9.0
depth 19.9 23.0
weight 10 kg (sorry) 31 lbs (gotta be close)

I know the stacker can be changed for other form factors and can carry 2 PSU's...
stacker has a chitload of usb ports, venilation is great...

gonna be hard for me to chose the p180

Oh yea, did I mention it had all kinds of room?

good hunting!!!

jd

Something else to consider, the price of the stacker has not gone down since last November...its still gonna cost you at least $150.

Have the cross flow fan, save your money...
