I have Intel D915PBL board with ata card with 2 ide drives (one of the ide drives failed). I am trying to build a raid solution so in case one of the drive crashes , I dont use my stuff. Here are the options I have

a) Built a ide raid and a sata drive for runing my os , ripping video.

b)buy two sata drives and setup raid 5 (Is it worth the $$) doing this way. The board support matrix raid (at present I can add one sata drive , add another one and configure raid 1 or 0 without reinstalling the OS).
