does anyone know of any good guides that walks you through the steps of building a pc? i've looked at some on google, but don't know if there are better ones, cause those sites seem a little.. .shady if you will... :D

P.S. any tips for beginners on building a new pc?

It's not that hard just gotta buy the parts separately.
[*]DVD Writer (AKA Burner)
[*]Hard Drives (AKA HD)
[*]MotherBoard (AKA Mobo)
[*]Processor (AKA CPU)
[*]Processor HeatSink/Fan (AKA CPU Cooling, comes with most retail processors)
[*]Power Supply (AKA PS)
[*]Memory (AKA RAM)
[*]Sound Card (some are integrated into the mobo)
[*]Network Card (AKA NIC, I think all mobos have these integrated now so forget about it)
[*]Video Card (AKA Graphics Card)
[*]Case Fans

Other basica such as Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and speakers.

Processor (socket number)
power supply ???
memory (pin numbers, and type? (sdram, ddr ram))
sound card??? what has to be compatible with sound card on mobo?
videocard (agp, pci-e, pci)
power supply ??? how do you choose?
DVD writer/cd drives? (all the same??? IDE???)
