Building a pc. $1500 budget

I plan on building a new pc for mostly gaming with a $1500 budget. The pc will also be used for basic student activities, assignments, etc. I want my pc to be able to run new games such as crysis 2 and shogun 2:total war on at least medium settings but would prefer high. I am also planning on playing battlefield 3 and the witcher 2 when they are released. All my parts will be purchased online and i have no brand preferences. I already own a monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. my monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080. I plan on building my pc in the next month or two. Please list the components or the pc you would build if you had my budget and preferences. P.S i'm new to this site, hope i covered everything you need, thanks 😛

You don't need that much money to achieve your requirements if you already have a monitor. $1000 should be more than enough for SB Core i5 2500K + 8GB RAM + GTX560/HD6950 + SSD

I'd pick the following components for a quality system, reasonably priced and way less than your $1500 budget.

Intel i5-2500K CPU - $224.99 (FS)

Total : $851.46 ($906.46 if you don't do rebate)

If you live near a MicroCenter store, you can buy the i5-2500K there for $180+tax instead of the $225 on Newegg.
If you want a better quality, quiet, minimum dust in the case, and good airflow case, take a look at Antec P183.
