...need some recomendations. Budget should be roughly around the one grand mark. Here's what I want to get so far...

- Epox 8KTA3 KT133A
- Duron 800MHz
- 256-512 MB PC133
- Maxtor 30.0 Gig HDD u100 7200
- Teac 12x10x32 CD-RW
- Mitsumi 48x CD-Rom
- Teac FDD
- GeForce2 MX or Radeon LE

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I personally don't like epox, tending towards Asus, abit (I know I know, but I have had nothing but good experiences), and Tyan. The rest seems like a solid line up. And Ram would onyl need to be that high if you are running Be, Linux, or one of the OSes with the NT kernel. I run 256 in my win 98se box and don't notice much a difference then when I ran 192. Benchmarks faster but no real world difference in my opinion. Good luck!

What's wrong with Epox? I'm coming off of a MSI K7T Pro-2A. I like that board, but I want a KT133A...

Looks like a nice system, but I agree with Tsaico, I would go for an Asus A7V133. It has the Via KT133A chipset and it's solid like a rock. Get the Geforce 2 MX if you want to play 3D games. Just some suggestions!

MSI's board is very good and same with the abit kt7a and iwill kk266 and the asus. I would stay away from the epox. I HAVE built computers with all of these boards and the IWILL and the MSI have impressed me but I am an abit lover so I still favor the kt7a.

I'm partial to MSI's, but I haven't heard very good things about the MSI Turbo. Oh well, guess I might go Asus...
