What do you guys think of this system? Any recommendations/changes?

Shuttle XPC SB61G2 $320
Lite On 48x24x48x16 CDROM/CDRW/DVD Combo Drive LTC-48161H - OEM $60
WD WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 120GB 7200RPM # WD1200JB - OEM $111
GEIL DDR RAM 512MB PC-3200 Value 400MHz Ultra- CAS 2.5 $73
Viewsonic 17" TFT LCD monitor VX700 $465
Intel Pentium 4 / 2.6CGHz 512k socket 478 HT 800 MHz FSB - RETAIL $220
Logitech Z-340 3 Piece Speaker System $45
ATI ALL IN WONDER 9000 PRO 64MB DDR AGP RETAIL $177

Im putting this system together for college (hence the LCD and the shuttle case). I opted for the AIW card so it the computer would double as a tv but if anyone has a better idea please let me know. All the listed prices are from Newegg and the total is about $1490. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Geil may require a bump on Vdimm, as long as the board supports it that wont be a problem. Other than that nice rig.

I was also considering this as a possible lower cost solution. What do you guys think?
Shuttle XPC SN41G2 $305
AMD XP 2500 Barton Retail $92
Viewsonic 17" TFT LCD monitor VG700 $435
2 Apacer 256MB DDR PC2700 RAM 32X8 Infineon Chipset CL=2.5 - OEM $69 (for both)
WD WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 80GB 7200RPM $92
Lite On 48x24x48x16 CDROM/CDRW/DVD Combo Drive LTC-48161H $60

Total from newegg is about 1060. I still need to add in a tv tuner card so what would you guys recommend? Im also not going to be doing alot of gaming so the GF4 should be good for now, I could always upgrade later. Am I better off with this setup or the intel setup? Thanks.

^ Also Im not quite sure about the "dual" DDR. Does that mean Im better off buying like 2 sticks of 256 rather than 1 of 512? And is there any benefit of going with DDR400 vs DDR333? Will it use the 400 since the cpu only uses 333?

get the Barton and overclock the hell out of it 🙂 oh and dual channel requires memery to be installed in pairs for it to work (so 2x256 would be good)
