Heya everybody,
first of all, im new here, so heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :D

im building a new machine now, and tring to save some money.. dont want to spend on features I would never use..

after doing abit of thinking, I would like to build a good OC machine. not a madness machine, but a nice, good, performance desktop comp.
should be running today's games without much problem (ofcourse not on the highest details).

the cpu I picked, is no other then the Core2Duo E6300.
now, the MOBO I would go for is probably GIGABYTE, since they are pretty cheaper than the ASUS over my country (Israel).

after looking around those 2 mobo's specs, I found only 1 major difference - on the 965 it supports DDR2 800, where on the 945 it supports only 667.
the price difference is 30$, and I would spend them somewhere else (maybe better hs)
is that difference on the memory speed will be nagging me when OC it ? my aim is to reach around 3GHz, maybe 3.2GHz..

and last question, I might miss something in the mobo's specs.. is there any other difference besides the memory's speed?

thanks for the reply dude, but I know it is better.. is it worth the extra 30$ ? will it bring a actually-feel better OC?

Yes, 965 chipset is very good for new conroe intels, and S3/ds3 is one of the best overclocker mobos

Both mobos are good choices but I would say if you want the better stability and the better OC then the P5B-D/E. The DS/S3 OCs almost as good but not quite as stable.

Whatever you do, make sure you buy a board with the 965 chipset. An E6300 with any board with a 945 chipset will get you a maximum of ~2.1 Ghz.

Ok.. I decided to spend a lil bit more and get the Abit AB9 Pro!
if ill have to do a lil saving, then ill go for the Gigabyte 965P-S3. It just gives better performance than the regular ASUS P5B
