GPU : Nvidia geforce 8600gt 512mb (540mhz core clock ,30 stream processors, 128 bit , 22gb memory bandwidth)
RAM : 1.5gb ddr2 600mhz
PSU : 450w (local)
MOBO : Gigabyte g31s2l
COOLING: Stock
(i know it sucks pretty bad :p)

Here are the specs that i am planning to buy :

CPU : Intel core i5 2500k 3.3ghz with turbo mode to 3.7ghz
GPU : zotac geforce Gtx 560 Ti 1gb
RAM : Gskill 4GB ddr3 1600 mhz
PSU : Crosair gs 600w

COOLING : Hyper 212 plus

I'd like to know if:

2. (IMPORTANT) are these specs enough for all the latest games on ultra?(1240x1024)
3. Any addition or deletion?

Hi Rahulmax.

I'd first say this would probably be a better question asked in General Hardware. The people there (myself included sometimes) often help people with new builds. This forum is usually dedicated to people with mini-itx or laptop rigs.

That said, the major thing that sticks out to me is if you aren't going to overclock, why buy a K series processor?

Thanx a lot for replying!! :) and i am very sorry, i'm new here so didn't know where to post. :\. And to your question a K series processor because in the future i might get a good motherboard and then overclock and also i can use the integrated gpu of the processor.

i know i should be getting a i5 2500 but it cant be overclocked and the gpu is slightly weak than the 2500k!! just to be future proof i'm going for k series!! :)

should i be posting this thread in hardware section now? or can you move it there? i'd appreciate it!! thank you!!

MOVED TO GENERAL HARDWARE

1) GS600 is enough.

2) Yes.

3) Either get an overclocking motherboard and overclock, or save a few bucks and don't get the overclocking CPU. If you still don't want to get the overclocking motherboard, at least get one that has the latest Z68 chipset. That way you (potentially) can upgrade to Ivy Bridge in the future, plus have latest tech like SSD caching and SATA 6G. Oh yeah, and if you aren't overclocking, no need for the Hyper 212+.

Buy a better monitor. That rig would be enough to play most games at high or medium at 1920x1080
