Building a new system, looking for advice

I've been upgrading my current system piecemeal for several years and decided to bite the bullet and build a new system from scratch now that the Core2 Duo processors have been released.


I plan to get the E6400 and hopefully overclock it with all the great info from here.

I don't play to go SLI (will get a 7900GT for now), though a friend said I should consider getting an SLI board anyway in case I change my mind.

I've gotten Antec cases in the past, but they don't seem to have any full-sized tower cases anymore. I was looking at the P180 but the Thermaltake has a lot more room and comes with more fans.

Is 550W enough for this system? Or should I get a larger one?

Should I get a better motherboard if I am wanting to overclock significantly?

I thought about getting a Raptor drive for my system files; how much of a performance difference will I notice?

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Replace Antec PSU w/ this Enhance 500W. About the same price, but much much better quality. Review on the Enhance 400W.

Everything else looks good in your system. Nice selection. But just one question. Why the expensive Zalman cooler?

Get a 1900XT and E6300, don't get TruePower II, rather get NeoHE. Getting XMS is not so important, get 1900XT first.
