building a new system for my brother

this is a major upgrade for my borther's computer system. The new components will be:

AMD 64 3000+ (venice)
Epox NForce4 Ultra 939 (comes with round IDE cables, IEEE1394 jacks, SATA cables)
Geforce 6800GT (2 DVI model)
OCZ Value Ram DDR PC3200 2Gig dual-channel kit
Logitech MX510 Optical mouse

reused components
Enermax case with 300Watts powersupply (will be replaced with the Thermaltake 480Watts Powersupply that he already purchased)
Creative Audigy
Maxtor 40 Gig ATA100 harddrive. (small but sufficient for his gaming use, probably will upgrade to WD Raptor 74 in another year)
LiteON DVD-ROM
LiteON CDRW 40X

All he going to do on this computer is playing game and web browsing . The games he will be playing are Call of Duty (the newest one), DOOM3, Half Life 2, Battlefield 2, and UT2K4. His old setup (P4 2.4Ghz) has problem of loading large Call of Duty multiplayer map for online play. Even though he has Comcast broadband, he still gets drop from the gaming server because his computer took forever to load the map.

Will his new system be good enough for some casual gaming (1024 * 786 and high details) for the next three years?

It will definitely do the trick, but might I recommend an investment in a better heatsink?

It will fit in almost all motherboards, and will do wonders for cooling. With that, and the 3000+ Venice, he should be able to get a nice overclock, enabling him to play BF2 and other high-end games at desktop resolution. Also, that 6800GT can be overclocked to a 6800 Ultra, if you're willing to try it. I'm not sure about how nVidia overclocking works (I have an ATI card) but I hear it's a simple OC.

Yeah, nTune makes overclocking piece of cake. AMD64's cool and quiet feature will make this system much cooler than any newer P4 system available.
