Building a new system ATM.. won't POST..

Ok, I just mounted an Iwill P4s, put a P4 1.7 in, then put my 3 sdram dimms in, then connected a graphics card, I also hooked up the HDDs and the power just to see if I could POST it. So when I turn it on, I hear the HDDs spin up and start to click..but then no video and I get that typical siren sound from the PC speaker.. any ideas what could be wrong? I checked the seating on the RAM and it's all seated fine.

Try having only of the DIMM slots occupied. There could be bad RAM. Also try stripping the system down to it's bare minimum and turn it on. If it works, keep adding and turning on until you get the problem again... try to isolate the problem.

What he(^) said, plus I'd try disconnecting the drives in case you've got a cable hooked up incorrectly; newer cables are usually keyed to keep that from happening but it could be an older cable. 😉
