I was just wondering what you guys would do in my situation. I am doing a complete overhaul on my computer and will be purchasing an E6300 once the price drops, DS3 motherboard, 2GB PC-6400 memory, and misc other things. I am going to either be using a 20" or 21" widescreen LCD for my visual needs. I was thinking about either using a 8800GTS 640MB or R600. The GTX is quite expensive for my tastes so I won't be going with the highend from ATI either (assuming that it is priced similarly). Now comes the interesting part... I already have two eVGA 8800GTS Superclocked cards, but was going to return them if the jump in performance to the R600 is great. Please help!

Some eye candy :)

Keep the GTS cards. Some people were saying to wait for the R600 back when the G80 launched over 6 months ago. No one has a clue if the R600 will perform better, cost less or have better drivers. In fact there is not even an official release date other than rumor.

Although what is someone with "AMD4Life" as a user name doing with a Core 2 Duo?

And now that AMD owns ATI, you'd be buying from the competition if you bought an 8800GTS.
