Building a New PC

Hello,

I'm building a new pc, and it's been awhile since doing so.

Using an Asus P5GD2 Premium, P4 620 3.2 gig, 1 gig corsair ram, Asus en6600 256mb video.
I know with W98 and earlier, it was best to start with just the basics, make sure they all worked, then add sound, nic, etc, one at a time.

With XP, is it really necessary to do that, or can I just plug it all in at once, and be ok?

Thanks for the help!

If you're using an Audigy 2 for sound, then I would put that last. But I just install everything at once then.

Had some issues with Audigy series being install with the OS at the same time.

Make sure after the get OS done, install the necessary Intel drivers, service packs, etc.

LOL! :D If that were true, I'd be eating pizza MUCH more frequently! :D

I'm working on second versions of each page that are written specifically for auto-translation at Google (really well-structured English, no slang, careful choice of words, etc). Sample page: http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/build/caseprep1_translate.html Anyone speak any of those languages fluently? Any good?

Thanks all for the input, this helps a lot!

Thanks

P.S. yes, I've had similar problems with seemingly all creative labs cards so I leave that til all other hardware is working.
