Hey guys!

I am soon building a new PC! It will be for gaming and music and stuff.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Gigabyte Mobo
512mb KIngston DDR 400 RAM
Raidmax Red case w/ 5 fans and 420w PSU
Hitachi 80GB 7200rpm 8mb buffer HDD
FX 5700 256mb DDR video card
Black sony 16x DVD-R and CD-RW combo drive
Venus 12 all copper heatsink/fan

Is this a good buget gamer? It wil cost $600 off newegg.com it is all I can afford...so please don't bash it too much ;) I think it is good. In a month after building it will have 1024mb KIngston DDR 400 RAM and another 80-120GB HDD. I got 2.1 cyber acustic speakers w/ sub and a turtle beach 5.1 card. And a 17'' monitor made in 2002 (proview) that I bought in my electroics class for $5! I hope to hear good things for this rig. So any advice is well excepted, remember I cannot go much over $600.

I think it is good.

I am a huge fan of Gigabyte motherboards, btw. They are in the last five systems I built.

you might be able get things even more cheaper if you get them from diffrent places. System looks nice. Doesn't look cheap at all to me.

unless you only play games that are about 2-3 years old, or dont mind low res etc, id suggest spending more on the vid card, 5700 are really weak, dont go by the 256 ram, it means nothing on a card so slow :)

if you do decide to buy diff gfx, look for a 9800PRO, (128MB, 256BIT)
