Building a new PC

Hi,

I recently fried my motherboard and need a new PC. My hard drive is still good, and I won't be needing another, I believe my RAM is good, and I won't be needing any optical drives, a mouse, keyboard, or monitor. I basically just need a CPU, Motherboard, PSU, and Case. I'm confident I can find an affordable case, but I'm kind of a newb to building my own PC so I was wondering on some suggestions for parts. I don't think I want to spent much more than $400.

I have a Sapphire ATI Radeon x1650 video card that no longer works, but there's a good chance I can RMA it. I plan on using it as just a home desktop, and I want to be able to play games like Counterstrike:Source, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Far Cry with good performance, and newer games with decent performance.

Any suggestions/good deals for cheap and high-performance parts? I had a Dell Dimension 5150 before, so I'm looking for something at the least as good as that.

Thanks!

You got Zap'd. :p

Antec PSU 430W $55 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817371006
Intel E2160 (great overclocker) $79 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819116036
Gigabyte P35-DS3L $90 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128059
If your RAM is DDR2, you're good to go but you could get a stick of 2GB DDR2-800 for cheap on newegg. Check the Hot Deals subforum too.

Which leaves you $whatever to spend on a case. I'm terrible at picking cases so I'll let someone else do that :).

Thanks a lot for your help!

I did some research, and I think I'm going to go with the Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 instead of the E2160, though. The rest looks really good, provided I can RMA my video card.
