Building a New PC Need Advice

I'm building a new pc for gaming. Prefer to play the newer games upon release and some current ones like oblivion on a high performance. I'm trying to stay around the price of 600, or as close as possible. Right now the price is about 650. which is suitable. We are also looking for a firewire port, which the first motherboard has, but the second one doesn't. It will just save space if we can avoid buying a pci card which supports firewire.

This is my current list with one suggested change. Was hoping for more advice. Thanks

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ socket 939 $135.00
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro $29.99
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe 939 $119.99
Kingston ValueRam 1 gig $94.99
Samsung SpinPoint P 250 gig $73.99
Samsung SHS162LBEBN/ Lightscribe $30.99
Sunbeam IC-KNT-SVBK power supply $27.99
Zonet ZEW1602 wireless adapter $9.99
Asus EN6600 512mb/128 bit $104.99

with the mouse and keyboard total price is $649.90

Recommend changes so far:
AMD Athlon 3800+ am2 $112.00
MSI K9N Neo am2 $76.99
Fortron 450 Watt $51.50
Corsair 1 gig ram DDR2 $83.49
Coolermaster Centurion 5 $43.99

Whoever decided to make those changes was a genius 🙂

The list with the changes is going to get you a very nice budget gaming system. There's not much left to say. If you are really trying to shave some $$ off the bottom line I'd scrap the arctic cooling Freezer. It's not going to perform that much better than the stock heatsink/fan that will come with the CPU. That will save you $30.00 + shipping.

Good job!

That system is reall the best you can get for the money or around their, without getting a super deal.
