I'm building a new computer.. what do you think about these parts? I'm going to be mainly using the computer for burning dvds, encoding videos, and I use photoshop frequently. I'm not a gamer or anything.

antec p180 silver
ASUS A8N-E ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Geforce 6200 LE TC
FSP Group AX400-PN, 400W Power Supply
corsair 2gb - 1gb x 2
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 500 MCE White box Tuner Card

$925 (prices from newegg, I'll shop around and bring it down some hopefully)

Looks good. I think if you spend a tad more on the video card, you can get HD decoding [assistance].

As you probably know, the P180 sites the PSU at the bottom of the case which means that you have to make sure the PSU cables are long enough to reach the components at the top, especially the ATX power cable. Each combination of psu and motherboard has different requirements so it makes it a bit of a minefield.

Get a video card that doesn't leech main memory away from the system. TurboCache and HyperMemory models are pretty much junk.

yeah get a 6600gt, that thing can even game BF2 on medium settings. The 6600GT probably helps with encoding.

i have a question about the non-standard PSU placement on the p180. since most PSUs have a 120mm fan located on the bottom of the PSU, wouldn't that fan be useless in a p180 since the PSU is located at the bottom of the case?

No, the PSU is elevated slightly to allow airflow to the bottom of the PSU.

Big time. I went with a p-180 and an Antec Neo-550 Power Supply. The cables Barely made it to the power inputs on the Gigabyte Motherboard I had at the time. The cables were very taut and had bt be run over my Video Boards. I ended up going with a DFI-LanParty board where cable placement is much better.

It's a big gotcha with that specific case. I'm extremely happy with it, however.
