Building a new computer..need new PSU?

Im planning on building a new computer with the following hardware in it:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 with an Abit IP35-E Mobo
8800GT
G.Skill 2gb ddr2 800(6400)
Seagate 320 GB

Im currently running an older computer with an amd 3000+ and 6800 ultra on a 450 watt power supply. I was wondering if that power supply could still keep up with the new upgrades or will I need to buy a new PSU when ordering this computer

depending on the quality of the 450watt PSU it could work, then again there are 500W PSUs out there that sould only be rated at 400W. I would upgrade do an Antec Earthwatts 500W or a Corsair HX520 or VX550

What kind of 450w PSU ??? Don't you think that be relevant for us if we were to advice you on wether that PSU will be good enough or not for your new hardware components?

Ugh, close call I reckon with the 8800gt. How long have you been running that PSU ? PSU's simply detoriate over time, wether we like it or not, and it's maximum capability may have allready gone down. I can't say for sure, so let's see if someone more experienced can tell you ... It most likely will run btw, but who knows for how long. You could simply try of course.

You should be OK if your caps haven't started to die on you. Check for bulging/leaking and RMA if under warranty...

Don't you have to open it up to check? If so, wouldn't you have voided warranty? 😛

You can carefully look thru the front and rear grills.

Cool thanks for showing the review. I will probably pick up one of those cause I dont feel like risking using my old one and something bad happening 😛. I know this isnt a power supply question but I was just going to ask here rather than make a new topic elsewhere. My dad has an extra copy of Windows Vista Business 32 bit. I was wondering if I should get more than 2 gb because Im a big gamer and dont want things slowing down. Should I get 1 more stick of 1gb to run it at 3gb just to be safe?
