Building a new computer, I need some HELP.

I'm building a new computer have have installed the following parts.

AMD 1.33 ghz
Alpha PEP66T heatsink.
ASUS A7M266
2 x 256 DDRam
Ledtek Geforce3
Pioneer 106 Slot DVD
40 gb IBM Deskstar 60gxp
and a Fortron 300 watt PSU.

all the power cables, ide cables, and LED/Switch cables are attached.
I turn on the computer, the Alpha fan runs so it is cooling the cpu.
the video card fan runs so that's plugged in correctly.
I can hear the DVD drive so that's working, and the motherboard light is on so that's plugged in.
But on the monitor (non-descript 14&quot😉 nothing shows up and the the computer just beeps repeatedly.

What do you think is wrong?
I'm pretty sure everythings plugged in correctly, could it be that I broke the amd core?
I don't think it broke when installing the heatsink.

Thanks.

I think it's fairly safe to assume that your core has been damaged. Take off the HSF and look it over. In the instance that it actually does not appear to be damaged, place it back in the socket, carefully reinstall the HSF, and try again. If you continue to get beeps, then you may simply have a bad chip to begin with.

Sounds like your cpu fan is plugged into the wrong fan header. Seems like that MB has two headers next to each other, if fan is in wrong header you get constant beep.
