Building a new comp or through Monarch?

Would it be lame to just purchase a pre-built system via Monarch rather than buying each part separately?

Outside of stuff like Arctic Silver 5 and an XP-90, Monarch virtually has every item I'd want to include in my pc (Case, psu, mobo, cpu, vid card, memory, peripherals) and when you factor in free Far Cry and HL2 and stuff, the price comes within a few dollars of buying everything separately (free shipping helps a lot in that regard). It might even be cheaper!!!!!

Hrm... how does Monarch do it?

Building is a fun learning experience....but you might as well just have them assemble it for you if it's the same price. Is there a warranty involved? If so, I would just do that.

Heh, I am not really lazy when it comes to the putting stuff together part, but I am when it comes to buying stuff. I was going to pick up everything outside of the vid card and psu via Newegg. But I just realized when I input everything I was getting into a Monarch system configurator, the Monarch was cheaper. :Q:Q:Q

Then go for the Monarch.

Ah, I see why the price is virtually identical. The build fee is $60 and the shipping if I pick up everything @ Newegg is about $70 more.

IMHO building it would be more fun. You get to go though the pain and suffering of getting it to work at the beginning. Once it does though, the pride and joy will probably be priceless. Precisely why I'm planning on building one myself rather than getting it built or buying one from Best Buy and such.

Maybe you should build one yourself before recommending it 😛

It is more fun though 😀 (unless something goes wrong... which tends to happen from time to time)

I've ordered through Monarch. I was satisfied with their shipping and customer service. If I don't want to build it, I Monarch it.
