building a new box

I building an AMD box this time, and I'd like to know what is the chipset of choice. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

The 780g chipset is good for low power usage and the onboard video is adequate for playing some games at medium resolution. Fry's also has the 9500 phenom retail boxed for $130 in today's ad, but I don't know if it's available online.

If you are speaking about onboard video, nVidia's 8200 requires less power than AMD 780g and probably as good in games. Unlike the AMD though, it's not available until May.

What I was asking about is a MB. I'm thinking about using an AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ Socket AM2 Dual-Core Processor. Can you help me now?

Why would you do that when an intel cpu will outperform it for the same or less money? If you're starting from scratch you should build an intel based system. Not so long ago I was a member of the amd fanboy club but I've been swayed by the powerful intel darkside. Anyway just take a look at all of your options before you spend any money.
