If I had 3000 bucks I'd probably spend them on a PC.
Anyway, what I meant is,no matter if what you get is good enough,it won't be enough a little while after you get it.That's why I wanted the 4770K,because I wouldn't need to upgrade soon.Initially I wanted AMD's FX8350.The GPU is very easy to upgrade (If we don't factor in the money needed),unlike the CPU and mobo.

That's just the thing though. Barring a huge change in game development (1% probability, parallel programming is hard), there is never be a case where the hyperthreading on the i7 makes a difference between playable and unplayable.

Well,Samsung's SSDs are top notch.I think mainly because they don't have the luxury of being the biggest cat around like they do in the smartphone space.I don't know about SandForce controllers though,so it's just what I read around the net.If they lie about performance, though, they got my disrespect.

johny12 is a well-known (around here at least) Sandforce fanboy. Check out his post history, nearly every single one is about a Sandforce SSD.

Guys like me will have a history behind this approach. I am being grateful to SF for the reliability they have provided to my data. Moreover, being so fancy about a product is not strange. According to me, People who have used sandforce products in the right sense have never looked back & hence their fan base is always expanding, just like I am proud to be part of this group :)

I checked your profile, and in the Interests section you have "playing video games, new technologies, notebooks". How come you don't have "Sandforce", "sharing my fascination with Sandforce" and "being part of a like-minded group advocating Sandforce" in there? I'm confused.

I know what you mean and I've already agreed with you.I just want to buy the i7 if my budget allows it.Right now,it seems it will.If not,I won't sacrifice other stuff to buy a 4770K.I just hope I won't have to make more compromises than what I have planned. The 7970 is almost sure,as is the mobo.Right now I'm only torn about the CPU,RAM and SSD.It's much, but I'll see what I'll do...

Why not save that 100 euros for when it will matter? Like going towards a GPU upgrade in 2 years?

Because of the reason I haven't upgraded until now.By the time I just have enough money,I'll spend it.I know I shouldn't,but I always find an excuse, typically in a new smartphone. This year I decided to stick with my S3 and cut down on my expenses a little (Apart from my vacation) so that I could finally get rid of my current PC.If I have this extra 100€ and don't spend it on the PC,it will be spent elsewhere, but surely not on my GPU ugrade 1-2(-3?) years from now.You are right in saying what you say,but money for an upgrade will be kept in the bank just before the upgrade itself happens.

Hmmm, that sounds like a personal problem to me. Maybe now is the time to change that behavior? Put the $100 in a CD with an 18-month maturity.

Hmm...Good idea :p
I don't know, maybe I'll open a bank account from which I can't withdraw money for some time and deposit a few bucks every month. That way,I'll have enough by year's end.Maybe,maybe...
One more thing.I had the idea of buying a cheap-ish monitor and placing it alongside my HDTV as a secondary screen,so that I don't have to exit my games to do something else(Browsing, managing my music, etc). In that case, would the CPU's built-in 4600 be enough?I wouldn't sacrifice any bit of the main GPU's performance to drive a secondary screen.

You could do either. Realisitcally speaking, having the main GPU drive a second screen doesn't make any measurable difference in the performance of games on the primary screen. You're using a few megabytes for the secondary screen's framebuffer, but that's about it.

You're probably right...Well,I'll worry about that after I buy the PC itself! Thanks for all your advice mfenn,I really appreciate it. :)

Please dont be. Let me clarify. being sandforce supportive doesnt necessarily mean you need to specifically tag it in your interests. I am very passionate about their products & I support them as I am a very ethical kind of personality & sandforce is also complemented to be highly ethical.
