Hi guys, my cousin has enlisted me to help him get desktop gaming rig together for him. Here are my constraints and what we're looking at

  • Mostly prebuilt, since I live too far away to be able to come and build it/fix (this contraint may change)
  • $1500 budget (possible to exceed if there is some deal out there to justify it
  • Sandy Bridge for future proofing
  • NVidia Graphics (no need to be dual carded yet, but can be if price allows)
  • At least 12gig ram
  • 120g+ SSD Operating system drive
  • Don't worry about monitor.mouse etc
  • Would like to get it ordered within the next 4-5 weeks

Ok, since its for my cousin, I'd like to lean more towards what has been proven durable even if it costs a little more. I don't want to be getting complaints if I can avoid it lol. As I said a big factor here is mostly prebuilt, so I'm looking for good suggestions for websites to order from, as well as components to be used.
So far I've been browsing IBuyPower, alienware(hate to go to them because of the high premium they charge), tiger-direct, and newegg.
I know there are more reputable websites out there, but since I myself haven't been in the market for a whole new system, and I haven't kept up on it too much.

This system isn't meant to break records or anything, but meant to be able to play most games well and leave room for future upgrades and longevity. (I know future proofing is technically impossible, but we like to try anyway)

Also, it would be more beneficial to wait a little longer because the next big thing is coming out and will help make price drops, that would be good to know.
Any helpful suggests and insights are welcome, and thank you all for your time! Hopefully I'm not to noobish for you all

I will say that Ivy Bridge is the most current Intel CPU. Sandy Bridge was the generation before.

how old is your cousin?

if he is older than 13, he should be able to build it himself, just make sure he watches the newegg how to videos.
