List of PC Parts
I've done some research into building a gaming rig, and I'm looking for a build that will be around $1500 or lower. Here are my current specs (Excluding Monitor/Mouse/Keyboard/Speakers)

Motherboard: MSI Z97-Gaming 5 $147.99

Processor: Intel i5-4690k $239.99

GPU: EVGA GTX 770 Superclocked $336.99

Ram: G-skill 8 GB 2x4 $79.99

HHD : WD Black Series 1 TB 7200 RPM $79.99

SSD : Samsung 840 Evo 256 GB $144.99

Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 $139.99

Power Supply: Antec HCG 620M $79.99

Other Components: Coolermaster Evo 212 CPU Fan $34.99

DVD Drive: $19.99

Okay so here are my questions.

1. Is this overall build sufficient for a high end gaming rig?
2. Is everything compatible with eachother? (I've done research on this, just making sure.)
3. Should I go for a cheaper option for Ram? like 4x4?
4. Am I spending too little/too much on one particular component?
5. Should I spend any extra money on cooling components other than the fans included in the case?
Lastly,
6. Are there any components that I am overlooking that I will need for the computer?

Also, if there are any other comments/suggestions, please let me know. I am willing to upgrade some of my components considering this build is around $1300.

Thanks guys

Please see the sticky at the top of this forum, http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=80121

Do you plan to add a 2nd video card at a later date(SLI) or are you good with one? If only one than you might think about downsizing to a micro atx board to save a little money. Also not really a gripe but the case you've chosen is relatively large and expensive, if you don't need the space you could easily downsize into something else and save some cash.

Also if you are near a Microcenter you can take advantage of their insanely good prices on cpu/mob combos.

Others will chime in on this thread that know more than I do, if it's your first build I'd recommend listening to them and asking tons of questions, they are extremely helpful.

Overall that build has parts that are not cost effective. In particular, the case, GPU, RAM, SSD, HDD, and motherboard are overpriced. You could build a machine with effectively identical performance for $980 (base plus cooler).

I'd recommend taking the build from my weekly build thread and swapping the GPU to a GTX 780 for $421 AR AP. That'll put you at around $1150 but give superior performance to the list that you posted.

You could also look into some kind of Z97 + i7 4790k bundle (there appear to be a lot of those on Newegg at the moment) and a GTX 780 like mfenn suggested.
If you also take mfenn's advice on cheaper RAM, HDD, SSD and case, you're going to end up with a more capable build for approximately the same price as what you've compiled yourself.

Posting here instead of your newly created thread since the discussion should really stay here.

As others have said, you aren't getting $1500 worth of computing power here. You can get the same amount of power for less money. Either pocket the extra dough, or use it to buy some nicer peripherals. A new monitor, a nice gaming keyboard if that's you're thing, a high-quality headset/sound card, etc.
