Building a dually ? need mobo recommendations

I?m building a new dually PC for use as a Photoshop workstation and wanted to get recommendations on which dual processor motherboards Anandtech users prefer.

Right now I have an older dually mobo from Tyan and it has been running 24x7 for over 5 years without a single problem. I?d rather give up some performance for stability and a 3 year warranty is a minimum requirement.

Thanks for your suggestions!

whats the point with a dually, go for an A64. u wish u got one when windows 64 will come out in late 2005. or wait until april then intel will launch some new pentiums with sse3 and emt64, their name for windows 64 compatibility. consuming lots of power compared to a64 winchester but its gonna have speedstep, thats the same like coolnquiet the AMD´s already have, so that it will underclock each moment u dont need the full cpu power. saves energy and decreases heat. whatever intel is trying to implement the useful features amd already has implemented for a while but still intel rocks on office and graphics software like photoshop and 3dstudip and stuff. so, what was the reason u need an dually?

Photoshop shows a major performance boost (3 to 10 times) when executed on a dually. I am leaning toward a AMD solution though.

Checkout Tyan Thunder K8W & Iwill Dk8n for Opterons

and Asus PU-DLS for 533 Xeons or Asus NCCH-DL for 800fsb Xeons.

i really think dual systems are not worth the big money u have to spend for buying.
but as u wanna use photoshop and stuff and wont be in the gaming area and if u furthermore have enuff cash then go for Intel:
Asus P5AD2 Deluxe
or
Asus P5GD2 Deluxe

Intel Pentium 4 Prozessor 540 or 550 (3200 or 3400MHZ)

2 x 1024MB of Ram, Corsair, Samsung, Infineon, Twinmos.

Nvidia 6600GT graphics card.

PSU from Antec, Tagan, Bequiet or Enermax, 400Watt is enugh

etc.

Id recommend this system cuz its not tooooo expensive though more expensive than a AMD System but it will be a lil better for the stuff u do like photshop. 2Gb of Ram, the good chipset and a powerful CPU (which will consume alot of energy and generate more heat too - thats a weakness of Intel CPU´s) should make PS run fast enuff.
