Building a deck. w/POLL

I'm looking at building a deck about 10x12 that would be elevated about 3 feet high. Not looking for something the would be directly connected to the house, kinda of a separate unit that would butt up against the house. Anybody know of any free plans out on the internet. I found some on yahoo, but not exactly what I'm looking for.

As for plans.. Buy a ruler and a pencil. Building a deck isn't exactly rocket science.



But then again, some people just aren't good at that kind of thing. i guess..

I can visualize most of what it would take to build one, I'm trying to get ideas on anything I may be overlooking as far as how The railing around the deck would be mounted to where it would be sturdy. And also what would be the best way to have the deck going into the ground, how many posts would be required, would 4x4s be good enough or should I use 6x6s. Stuff like that, I don't want any surprises.
