yeah, he knows some things about computers. He doesn't need a modem, cause he is getting @home. He has a good keyboard and mouse he wants to keep.

Great choices all around, but you may have to wait a little while for vendors to get stock of the A7V and the Geforce 2 MX. I would also upgrade the burner to an 8x/4x unit. The price difference is so small and definitely worth it for twice the CDR speed.

I know about the waiting, although I heard one vendor had the A7V. About the CD-RW, he wants a smart and friendly, even though they are going under.

well the price for the MX varies from $120 to $200. so, which model does your friend want.

and that RAM seems a bit expensive. as is the floppy drive.

----

S&F already went under. but faster is more expensive, so whatever works is fine. frankly I want that new plextor drive which I can't afford just so i don't have to wait for my discs to be burned... :p you may also want to look into buying some bulk discs along with those hardware pieces... saves on shipping if you get stuff shipped at once.

Well, floppies at compusa ar $20 and that saves on shipping. I didn't even know the MX was out, I just figured I would get the cheapest one, since normally performance doesn't vary.
