Why all the unnecessary specs ??

Do you just like typing ?

My personal opinion, 2 Raptors on a RAID 0 is nice.

If you want back-up, throw ina 250 GB 8 Meg Cache HD...

Go with the AMD 2500 XP
get everything thru newegg.com
save some money and use it towards getting a decent vid card, because if you arent using this for games then this is all overkill anyway ....

If you want it quiet, then that's a good choice, the Seagate. If you want performance, I think the Western Digital Caviar SE drives are still the leaders.... the Seagate drives are also known for getting hotter than most other drives.

Actually, the Maxtor DM+9 SATA drives are faster than the WD's now AFAIK. The only faster drive is the Raptor. I would get a SATA 120GB Maxtor DM+9 over the Seagate since not only is it quiet and faster, but it comes with a 3 year warranty when the Seagate is only 1 IIRC. :)

Um...what?

The Soundstorm Audio that is integrated is as good or better than the audigy card he wanted. And don't crap on his thread because he wants to be thorough. I would rather he be specific then say "I'm going with the $95 Radeon card" sheesh.

About your video card, it appears that a card like this one will do everything you want. For $40 bucks more its a lot more card:

I'm not sure really sure about the VIVO, but since your description says "(with VIVO Video in/Out adapter)" I'm assuming you can just buy this adapter for any card with S-Video?

Or maybe this card, since it says TV-Out:
