I keep looking for reasons to upgrade from my OCd C2Q, but haven't found very many at all. It's still kicking ass in everything, and I'll probably just keep it until the end of 2011.

Yeah it seems only the dual-gpu solutions see an improvement with i7 over Q9x50.

Most of the time dual cores are still enough.

yea i still have a C2D E6850. i could drop in a C2Q but they're actually kind of expensive still, and my motherboard, ip-35, has a nasty vdroop and i don't feel like screwing around with vdroop mods.. think i'm just going to keep the dual core for as long as possible.

GTA 4 is about the only game where you would get a noticeable increase with an i5/i7 over your Core 2 Quad.
