I need to build a new gaming pc for $500 (w/o monitor as I already have a 22" LCD)
Is this possible?
I'll be playing a lot of FPS:
- Call of duty series
- Fear
- Quake 4
- Counterstrike
I don't care about future upgradability of the pc (I've build several pc in the past and by the time to upgrade them, it's better to build a new pc)

This pc is to replace my current pc which I play counterstrike & surf the web on (amd 2.6 sempron, 80gb hd, 2gb ram, Nvidia geforce 4 ti4800).

Can someone recommend some best bang for my bucks part?
I dont' care if it's new or used as long it's readily available for the price you're giving me.

Feel free to recommend me something else but I need:
Case
Power supply
Ram ($65 for 2gb at newegg)
Mobo
CPU
Hard drive (200gb $65?)
Video card (Radeon HD2600xt $160?)
DVD Burner ($40 @ newegg)

1.) Wrong forum

2.) A lot of those things can be had off the FS/FT forum for less than retail.

That is what I came up with. If you went with the x2 4000+ you could knock off about 60 bucks.

Hope that helps.

I don't know if I would necessarily agree with their current pricing I would have loved to throw in a core2 but I couldnt find one that quite fit his bill. Any suggestions?
