Hi everybody,

I am considering building my own PC. Is there any important points i need to be aware of before i begin purchasing and assembling parts?

Does anybody know where i can buy quality parts at low prices? I would like the parts to have at least a 1 year garantee on them.

All help very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Moh

* A very important would be to read threads in this forum that pertain to your situation.
* The next important point would be to analyse that information and determine how it applies to your own situation.

Thanks for your replies.

Can i use any CPU with any motherboard? Or does it have to be a specific type?

Just because of that question I suggest you list what you want to use the computer for, and a buget. Someone will give parts suggestion based off of that.

Thanks for your replies Blain and raincityboy.

My budget is £300. I will be using the PC for Microsoft Office, Web Serfing, Downloading off the internet (games, songs, films).

No, What processor you get depends on the motherboard, so you should probably pick your processor first, then get a good matching motherboard.

With a budget that small, and for what you are doing, it would be in your financial interest to buy a Dell. However, if you want to learn and want the experience, then by all means build.

I agree. If that budget includes the monitor and accessories your best bet would be a prebuilt.
