OutHouse

Lifer
new hardware
Gigabyte GA-K8NSC 939
Athlon 64 3000
1GB Crucial RAM
80GB Maxtor ATA100 drive
Maddog 450w Powersupply

I got XP Pro through the first boot, then on the second boot i get "boot disk failure insert system disk and press enter"

before it throws that error during the POST it will sit at "Verifying DMI pool data........" for about 2 minutes.

I press enter and the screen goes black except for a blinking cursor. any ideas??

I figured it out.

IDE channel 0 was HDD (master) CD-rom (slave)

IDE channel 1 was HDD (master)

changed it to

IDE channel 0 HDD (master) HDD (Slave)

IDE channel 1 CD-rom (master)

booted up in like 5 seconds!!!

then i added a second HDD (slave) to IDE channel 1 and all is good!
