For counter-strike? What are you using now? My 3 year old PC (1.4GHz, GeForce3) plays CS flawless 😉

its for someone else....ummm what'd u think about the pc?...it should run fairly well for nowadays games too...

Obligatory "9800 pro is only 20 bucks more than the 5700 and much, much faster" recommendation. If it were just CS the 5700 would be more than enough, but you said "it should be enough for nowadays games too," which the 5700 would choke on.

Seconded.

Replace the KT400 mobo with a NF2 one like the SHuttle AN35n-ultra which is only $55. Get a mobile barton 2400+ for $77, and you are VERY likely to get a simple o/c to 2.2ghz. Spend $10 more and get PC3200 ram, 2x256mb. I got an Artic Cooling hsf that was pretty cheap and is keeping my 2400+ at 2.2ghz at around 45° C. And I definitely agree on getting the 9800 Pro. A used one might by around $160, new for as low as $190. I can't believe you'd spend almost 20 bones on a mousepad!

yeah, If you just wanted to play counter-strike, not much power needed for it. My old p3 1ghz with 512 ram and a geforce2 32mb played cs, ut2k3, battlefield reasonably well...

It's for CS, d00d. $$$ well spent! 😉

An AWP-whore would have to hang his head in shame if he didn't have an overpriced mousepad. 😛
