Also, is it GPU-Z that we should run to break in the the card? Though he's been maxing out some games, so probably a moot point now.

Yeah and occasionally CPU-Z,Real Temp as well 🙂
 
GPU-Z is just a tool for viewing the graphics card's specs and messing around with VGA BIOS files. It doesn't put any load on the GPU, it's not a benchmark tool or anything.
