He wants the most bang for the buck at $500. No monitor/keyboard/peripherals. Just desktop.

It should run WoW on playable settings (so yes to video card).

Thanks guys

If you have a Fry's near by, this is what I got this week.

Shuttle SN78 XPC
X2 250
4GB PC6400
9800GT 1GB

All for $315. If you want a quad-core Microcenter has the 620 for $99. That should be more than enough to play WoW at near max setting.

The best deals with Frys are normally in-store only.

Here's my suggestion, comes a little over $500, but drops down once rebates are involved.
AMD Athlon II X2 250 & COOLER MASTER Elite 360 Combo - $91.99
GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AM3 Motherboard - $89.99
CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 & ASUS EN9800GT/DI/512MD3 GeForce 9800 GT Combo - $174.98 - $20MIR
LG DVD Burner - $28.99
Western Digital 640GB Caviar Blue 7200RPM HDD - $69.99
Corsair CMPSU-400CX - $49.99 - $10MIR (It should power this system fine)

Total: $505.93 + shipping ($26.84 for my location) - $30MIR = $502.77

To be honest I'd go cheap on the case, and get a better proc. Also, I trust rosewill to deliver cheap goods, of decent quality. It's owned by newegg, and I don't think they'd really want to sell absolute crap.

He's pretty much got everything he needs.

Optical drive
Hard Drive
CPU
Mobo
Graphics Card
PS
Case
Memory

Case is OK I guess. If you're on a budget, I'd prefer more performance than looks. You're getting 4gb of ram, triple core cpu(maybe you can unlock the 4th) and a 9800 Gt for ~$494 after shipping.
