Hey,
with my expandng network, i was planning on build a win 2k server to create a domain.
I was planning on having over 512megs of ddr ram and a 20 gig hd as basic setup up. I was going to to stick with an AMD proc.
i would play some lan games user the the win 2k box as a server.
What kind of hardware would be good to use in building the actually server? i know newegg had some good deals on harddrives and mobo, a while back. Cost is a factor, i just want a machine that will be dedicated.

I am running a K6-2 450 using W2K server domain & active directory. It hosts some CS, UT, and other games. I also use it as a vitual cd/dvd and print server. I haven't had one problem with it and I can't remeber the last time I rebooted. It may not be fast but it does the job, and the bonus is it's using all recycled parts.
