Thought that I am gonna share some of my experiences with building a $300.00 Hackintosh.
Basically, since some of the hardware used in I-Hacked guide are difficult to get these days, I have decided to try with a diffrient configuration.
Please, see the my thread over at OsX86Project.org for more info.
Cliffs:
- OS X 10.4.3 seems to be compatible with a wide array of PC hardware.
- People have problems with installing 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 - the installation is more of a challenge. Be prepared for an extreme OSX hacking when attepmting to install 10.4.4 and 10.4.5
I am posting this from my hackintosh. System is stable, usable, and fast. It does not reboot very well, as the OSX86 has problem with ACPI support, but it does shutdown fine.
Also, my USB Keyboard and Mouse do not work, even though USB works fine ( I was able to mount USB Flash Drive and USB Hard Drive).
PS2 Keyboard and Mouse work fine, even through my crappy 4 Port KVM switch...
Happy Modding!
