2001 Buick Regal (Yeah I know, grandpa car). How are the blower motor and cruise control related? If the the blower doesn't run the cruise won't work and vise versa. Every once in a while the blower won't turn on. I have noticed when that happens the cruise won't work. As soon as the blower starts working the cruise control works.

Thanks

The blower motor and cruise use a vacuum line. I am not sure were this is located but you can post this over at http://www.w-body.com and I am sure you will get your problem solved.

Oh the Regal isn't a 'grandpa' car unless you don't have the GS... then it could be considered one.

Cruise controls haven't used vacuum for decades.

Like you, I thinks it's electrical in nature. Without a wiring diagram in front of me, I wouldn't even begin to know where to look. They share a ground or share power or they have connectors in the harness that are in the same location and water has corroded some terminals - lots of choices.

I suck at diagnosing electrical problems. Guess I will get a wiring diagram and start there though it probably won't make sense to me. 😀

Think of this as an opportunity to learn. The factory manual I linked to will have a page or pages on both the blower circuits and the cruise control circuits. But start at the beginning of the manual and read. It will explain what the symbols and nomenclatures mean. It will have sample circuits and how to check those circuits. It will show simple ways to check those circuits.

In the back there will be diagrams of locations of connectors, splices, switches, relays and such. These will be referenced on pages for various circuits so if you need to know where something is located, it will tell you what page and which illustration to look at.

You've got an intermittent problem that is not of an emergency nature. You have the time to broaden your horizons.

If it's going to be mission impossible for you that's OK. Take it somewhere. Other people need to feed their families too.
