buggy text in windows 2k

Hi all,
I just installed Windows 2000 Adv. Server on my system, and in 32 bit color mode I get totally garbled text, and in 16 bit color mode, I still get slightly messed up text when scrolling through documents (web pages, etc). I've got a Viper II 32 Meg video card, with the latest win 2k drivers, installed the Service Pack 1 and the patch from microsoft. This is in 1600x1200 by the way, though text is still garbled in lower resolutions.
Anyone out there experience this or know how to fix it? Is this just an issue of my video card?
