Hello, im trying to build a decent game computer for under 400. Now i got a decent setup(i think) and im left over with 120 for a video card. I already own a radeon 5770 in my old pc. i was wondering.

IF I GET ANOTHER RADEON 5770 AND RUN DUAL 5770 WILL THEY BE BETTER THAN ONE RADEON 7770?

Here is a link to my budget build, now i will be using my old cooler master HAF case and DVD rom.

Sell your current 5770, probably get an easy $70+ or so I'd guess (it's as fast/faster than 7750 I think, which goes for $100ish new normally). Put that $ together with what you would have paid for another 5770, and get at least a 7850. 7850 >>>>>>> 5770 CF, particularly when you consider that many games have CF issues.

well see here is my issue with that. my GF gets my old vide card. So if i get a 7770 she gets my 5770. And if i decide to go dual 5770 i can get 2 5770 cards off ebay for under 100. also the 7850 is 100 over my limit.

How does spending $397 leave you $120 for a video card in a $400 budget?
Also, your build looks pretty bad and that mobo can't even crossfire.

I'd change the CPU to a i3, and the GPU to a 7850, but don't have the prices for those...

I do, which is why I didn't go that route. The G850 is generally within the clock speed difference of the Sandy i3 in gaming, and with a $40 difference to the i3 2100 and a $20 difference to the cheapest decently-clocked 2GB 7850, it just didn't work out.
If you make the $40 jump to the i3 2100, how do you not get the i3 3220 for $18 more?

I would feel better with this:

...but that is a $40 increase over the G850 build.
If OP could swing that difference it would be the way to go, though.

I suggest re-evaluating your choice in motherboard. You can probably find a good motherboard that is not much more, but will support crossfire (and perhaps have better SATAIII support for your SSD).

Or, if you stick with that motherboard, probably abandon the idea to use crossfire. For the moment, post an ad in craigslist or eBay to try and sell your 5770, and see how that goes. If you can get a good offer for selling your 5770, then you can put that money toward a newer/faster video card that will be a single-card solution near 5770 crossfire performance. So maybe let that decide for you whether to get a different motherboard and use the 5770 in crossfire, or stick with this motherboard, sell the 5770 and get a single faster video card. Maybe someone is trying to find another 5770 for his own crossfire because he already has a motherboard that supports it, so maybe you can get a decent sale price for selling it.
