Bugatti Veyron vs Lamborghini Aventador vs Lexus LFA vs McLaren MP4-12C

Why do they have the rear wing flap propped up on the Veyron? It increases drag and reduces the straight line speed.

I'd take the Lambo. I don't even want to think about the maintenance on the Veyron. Heck the tires alone are around $20k.

The Veyron is an incredible car by anyone's standards. But its styling just doesn't speak to me in the way that the Lambo and the McClaren do.

Too bad they couldn't get an Agera R for the run.

Without even watching the video, I would wager Veyron > Aventador > MP4-12C > LFA

However, if we're rating the sound of the engine/exhaust, LFA > every production car ever made.

Not surprised by the results, but this video is fail from the premise(straight line acceleration being the determining factor). Perhaps I have been watching too much Top Gear(BBC), but there's so much more to what makes a great car than the 1/4 mile.

I simply do not understand the LFA. NOT for that price. $300,000+ for that? No thank you.

Exactly. It's really ridiculous when you consider things like the R8 V10, F458 Italia, etc, are LESS expensive and much more iconic. I would have been ten times more impressed had they made a car for the price/performance of the GTR or Z06.

In a funny way I think the LFA's defining characteristic is its price. That is the one thing about it that defies typical Toyota/Lexus virtues (quality, reliability, practicality, value). I think it's kind of a stupid car but the price actually makes me love it more (even if it makes me less likely to ever own one). The exhaust note is, I think, a contender for the sexiest on any road car, ever, but then again the Carrera GT will give you that minus the shame of paying mid-6 figures for a Lexus.

It's sort of odd that Toyota basically made the NSX of this era. A brilliant car by any standard, but priced a good 5 times too high.

It's not the best looking Lambo, but it's OK. I wouldn't have the LFA under most circumstances however.

I'd be interested to see what they lap times would be like if they had done a propper race, not just a straight line.
