Bugatti Veyron vs. Koenigsegg Agera S - Pawn Sauce

Huayra looks nice and sexy as an Italian sculpture but it's not in the same league as the Agera S or Veyron SS when it comes to acceleration. The Huaya styling got my attention but lost interest rather quickly. Agera however, styling grows on me more and more. And especially when you open up the doors and trunks / hoods the damn thing looks like some sort of alien spacecraft.

I love Swedish people. 😀 Ain't that a beauty?

Veyron while I like the side and rear view and its great engineering achievements, the front looks ugly as hell. God I could never stand it.

Amazing that they manage to make a video on this topic boring. Personally I'd take a Huayra over either of these . . .

+1

while i don't disagree with your statement about acceleration, straight line acceleration is but one of several facets of supercar design, and its arguably less important than a supercar's cornering ability and transitional characteristics. what good is the million dollar Bugatti Veyron that's blindingly fast in a straight line if it can't keep up with or pass my lowly Toyota on any other part of the track except on the straights?

i do have to disagree on the styling thing though - i'm not sure how the Agera's styling could grow on you...unless its been growing on you since 2002. after all, that's when Koenigsegg's first car, the CC8S, debuted, and every model since then has looked the same. while the Huayra is definitely an evolution of the Zonda, at least it doesn't look damn near identical to its predecessor, which is more than i can say about the Agera S.

to be honest, albeit a bit off-topic, i'm far more interested in the Porsche RS/RSR/Cup cars in the background of your picture than i am in any of the 3 cars discussed in this thread so far...

I too am no fan of the Veyron's styling. The Koenigseggs are very impressive but don't offer up the same weirdo steampunk charm as Paganis, and other things being equal, V-12 > V-8, at least for me. I actually think the late-run special edition Zondas (e.g., the Tricolore or the Revolution) look better than the Huayra, but all Paganis share an intense attention to detail, combined with a Latin passion I find lacking in the Koenigsegg cars. Plus, while the Agera may be faster off the line, I would be amazed if it can match the real-world lap times of the fast Paganis, including the Zonda R's Nurburgring time and the Huayra's TG lap time. I guess time will tell.

Veyron is ugly. I thought this was pretty universally accepted. The 'wow' is all performance/design...and price.

I find Koeniggsegg neat because they seem to have taken over the 'batshit insane car will kill you' space vacated by Lamborghini. And I mean that in a totally loving kinda way.

The Huayra accelerates fast enough for me, and it's crushed everything else on the TG track. Plus it's the most beautiful and exclusive, by far. It's the hypercar I'd want.

The Veyron is pretty much the car with the ugliest frontend in the history of cars. But I will take ANY Koenigsegg any day of the week. I am in love with all of them.

W-16 sound still wins though :O

Also, why were the first two passes at least, done with the wing out? If you're going to drag race a Veyron, you should put that wing away...

The Huyara's Top Gear time was on cut slicks so its irrelevant for comparison. And the Zonda R is a race car so again not comparable. I do think the Zonda R is the best looking of all the Paganis (I believe they showed off a supposedly street legal version somewhat recently).

Yeah, but the Cinque/Tricolore have the same bodywork as the Zonda R (except for the ridiculous wing?), while either running a detuned 6 liter race engine, or a tuned 7.3, to be road legal. The Revolucion is a pure lap time project.

I know Pagani claims they're the roadgoing versions of the R but just look at them the bodywork is noticeably different. The R has a different front splitter, sometimes the extended "ducts", and then the outlets on the hood, and the backends are very different. They don't have the roll cage, and I'm pretty sure they're quite a bit heavier than the R (to be expected).
