Out of curiosity, I want to make sure these facts are straight.
Following this link, you will here the host say "At top speed, the Veyron gets 3mpg, at the rate, the 26 gallon fuel tank runs dry in 12 minutes." The video also mentions, and I checked from other sources to make sure it's correct, the Veyron's top speed is 253mph.
Now let's do some calculations:
253 mph / 60 min = 4.216 miles a minute
4.216 miles per minute * 12min = 50.6 miles
That basically means the Veyron will drive 50.6 miles at top speed in 12 minutes, assuming that it started at 253mph at 0 minute.
However, the video also mentions it gets 3 miles per gallon.
26 gal * 3 miles per gallon = 78 miles
Why is this different? Shouldn't it be 50.6 miles since it runs out in 12 minutes?
If it ran out in 12 minutes at top speed:
50.60 miles / 26 gal = 1.95 miles per gallon ~ 2mpg
That means the Veyron gets 2mpg at top speed, not 3mpg?
Now that's not accounting the time it took to accelerate to 253 mph. I'm guessing that, given the mpg and time data which was taken from the acceleration bit, we would get a closer figure. But to counter this argument, the wind resistance is the greatest at 253mph, and I'm assuming the engine would be using it's maximum power at that time and during acceleration, so fuel economy numbers should be the same. Perhaps, even better when accelerating than when at top speed.

It takes less than a minute for a Bugatti Veyron to reach maximum speed. Now at top speed it does 4.216 miles per minute. So, obviously the miles per minute for the acceleration minute will be lower. Why is there a <27 mile difference (26*3 = 78 - 50.6 = 27.4) in distance covered even with this assumption? Something is not right. I think we can assume that the Veyron does not get 3mpg at top speed.
